About the Ikageng Hockey Upliftment Program
Launched in 2024, the Ikageng Hockey Upliftment Program provides structured support, resources, and training to aspiring young hockey players in historically underserved communities. With the World Masters Hockey World Cup 2024 as the backdrop, this program is set to inspire the next generation of hockey stars by breaking down barriers to participation and providing young athletes with the tools they need to succeed.
Through the Ikageng Program, we aim to:
- Equip young players with essential hockey skills through hands-on coaching and mentoring.
- Provide access to equipment, ensuring every child has the necessary gear to participate fully in the sport.
- Foster community development by creating hockey hubs in targeted regions where young players can train, grow, and connect with others who share their passion for the game.

- Hockey Rebound Blocks Initiative
- Goal: Equip each development hub with hockey rebound blocks to enhance skill-building.
- Impact: These rebound blocks provide young players valuable practice tools to hone their techniques and create clean, well-maintained practice spaces.
- Get Involved: Individuals, teams, and businesses can sponsor rebound blocks or contribute through donations, helping to build structured, safe environments for future hockey stars.
- Upcycling Equipment
- Goal: Collect and redistribute gently used hockey equipment, including sticks, shin pads, and shoes, from participants in the World Masters Hockey World Cup.
- Impact: Providing pre-loved gear to under-resourced players removes financial barriers to participation and enables more young athletes to get involved.
- How You Can Help: Drop off your equipment at designated collection points during the tournament or donate new items to help support the program.
- Practice Equipment Legacy
- Goal: Gather excess practice gear from tournament participants for redistribution to development hubs.
